Student answer (Band 6.0)
Access to clean water is a basic human right. I agree that every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge because clean water is too important for human life.
Clean water is a basic need of humans. It is used in daily life for drinking, cooking, and washing purposes. Every living thing needs water to survive, like humans, animals, and plants. Farmers need water for their fields. if the clean water access is easy for everyone, they are safe from different diseases.
Government should supply the clean water to every home which is the basic right. The government takes a lot of taxes from the people and don't give the basic rights to them. Most of the people who lives in the backward areas don't have the access of clean water they are suffering from different types of diseases. The Government should take step for them and give his basic rights.
Now people get clean water from filters or bakeries. Most of the people can't afford this so that government take step for these people.Last year most of the people in flood areas are not getting clean water some people died due to shortage of water, and many families lose their family members.
In my point of view, the government should take step and provide the clean water to the every single person in our country; this is the basic need of every human.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention the importance of water for health and agriculture, the arguments lack depth and specific evidence. The response is also under the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of your points. To improve, you should expand on the economic or social implications of free water, perhaps discussing the role of government subsidies or the potential for waste, to provide a more balanced and thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical. You rely on simple transitions like 'In my point of view' and 'Now', and there is a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices to link sentences and paragraphs more fluidly. Some sentences feel disjointed, such as the transition between the government's tax collection and the mention of backward areas. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless') would help create a more cohesive flow throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'clean' and 'basic' throughout the text. There is little attempt to use less common or more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'infrastructure', 'subsidization', 'potable water', or 'socio-economic'. While the meaning is clear and communication is not impeded, the range of vocabulary is limited, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Incorporating more academic collocations and synonyms would significantly enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Most of the people who lives', 'government take step'), missing articles ('take step'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses or relative clauses, with greater accuracy.
