Student answer (Band 6.0)

Water plays an essential role in living thing life. without water the life is impossible. so, I strongly believe that clean water is primary right of human.

Firstly, Water is crucial for everything without water it's impossible for them to survive. and especially scrub water is elementary for every living. therefore, the government should supply filtered water to those places where there is no purify water to drink, cooking and for other use. there are lots of countries in which there is no tidy water to drink. even it is not useful for animals so the government should take action and provide filtered water to them. because it's our responsibility to help those people who have no polish water for spending their life. and the famous proverb says that that helping of one person is helping of whole world.

secondly, in some countries the government provide purify water to their people, but the cost of that water is too high and most of the people cannot afford that. and it's out of budget of them due to high prices. so therefore, the government should equip water free to them or furnish it with cheap prices. because clean water is too essential for everyone and it's the responsibility of government to low the prices of filtered water or give free to people.

In conclusion, the government allocate hygienic water to the people because it's the elementary need of human right without tidy water life is impossible. and cheap the prices of spotless water or give free to people were there is no tidy water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that water should be provided free of charge. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention the importance of water for survival and the financial burden on citizens, the arguments are not fully extended with specific examples or nuanced reasoning. The response stays on topic, but the lack of sophisticated supporting evidence limits the score. To improve, focus on providing more detailed explanations of why free water is a human right and consider potential counter-arguments to strengthen your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Firstly', 'secondly', 'therefore'). There are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the transition between the importance of water and the government's responsibility. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the concluding paragraph lacks a strong summary of the main points, instead repeating the prompt's language. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and often inaccurate. You frequently use words like 'tidy', 'scrub', 'polish', and 'spotless' to describe water, which are not appropriate collocations in this context; 'clean', 'potable', or 'hygienic' would be much better. The repetition of basic words like 'water', 'government', and 'people' suggests a restricted range. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the misuse of adjectives significantly impact the quality of the writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic and topic-specific terms is essential.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('government provide'), article usage ('the government should equip water'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, such as 'without water the life is impossible. so, I strongly believe...'. While you attempt some complex ideas, the execution is often faulty, leading to awkward phrasing. To reach a higher band, focus on basic sentence construction, correct verb tenses, and ensuring that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
