Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that water should be provided free of charge. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments regarding health and economic accessibility are mentioned but not sufficiently extended or supported with concrete examples. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. To improve, you should aim to expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of varied cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are frequently missing or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'In my opinion' and 'The reason behind this is'. While the central idea is clear, the flow is somewhat disjointed. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure each paragraph has a clear, distinct focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, which limits the ability to express complex ideas. Phrases like 'surviving in life' and 'good just a think' are awkward and lack precision. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'provided full of charge' instead of 'free of charge'. To reach a higher band, you need to move beyond simple vocabulary and attempt to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to social issues and public policy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The grammar contains frequent errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. There are consistent issues with article usage (e.g., 'government should supply'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'Getting water on some charge not can be possible'). The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and the appropriate use of articles, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
