Student answer (Band 6.5)
Access to clean water is basic need of every Human. Therefore, Every home should have Water supply that is free of cost. Some people believe that goverments should provide free water to every household. I partly agree with this opinion because everyone should have access to clean water.
On one hand, every person need clean water for drinking, cooking, maintaining hygiene. without it people may be sick or suffer from diseases and poor living condition. Providing a certain amount of water free of cost can improve public health and reduce inequality, especially for low-income families.
However, on the other hand, supplying and treating water requires a tremendous amount of investment in infrastructure, labor, employment and electricity. If water was completely free, people might waste it because they wouldn't have to pay for it again and agian. This could lead to water shortages and place a heavy financial burden on governments. Charging for water beyond a basic allowance can encourage people to use it more responsibly while helping to cover the costs of the water supply system.
To Conclude, I believe that access to clean water is a fundamental human right and every household should recieve enough water to meet daily needs without charges. However, People who consume more than the essential amount should pay for the extra usage. This approach is both fair and sustainable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed the prompt by providing a clear, balanced position. You acknowledge the importance of water as a human right while also considering the economic realities of infrastructure. However, the response is 25 words under the 250-word minimum requirement. This negatively impacts your score as the ideas, while relevant, are not fully developed to the extent required for a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your examples or provide more detailed reasoning for your arguments to ensure you meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use transition signals such as 'On one hand', 'However', and 'To Conclude' to guide the reader through your argument. The progression of ideas is generally smooth. However, the cohesion is sometimes slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with sentence-level flow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the logical links between sentences are more sophisticated and less repetitive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'infrastructure', 'fundamental', and 'sustainable' appropriately. There are some minor errors in word choice and capitalization, such as 'basic need of every Human' (should be 'every human') and 'recieve' (spelling error). While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. Try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and avoid repeating simple words like 'water' or 'free' too frequently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'If water was completely free, people might waste it'. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('the' is missing before 'water supply'), capitalization ('Every', 'Water', 'Human'), and subject-verb agreement ('every person need' should be 'needs'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve your accuracy.
