Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the topic but lacks a clear, consistent position. While you mention that water is a basic right, you do not explicitly state whether you agree or disagree with the proposal that it should be provided free of charge. The ideas are somewhat disjointed, shifting from the importance of hydration to factory pollution and individual water wastage. To improve, ensure you take a clear stance in the introduction and dedicate each paragraph to supporting that specific position with well-developed arguments rather than listing various water-related issues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of your ideas. The text is presented as a single block, and the transition between sentences is often abrupt. You rely on simple sentence structures and lack a variety of cohesive devices to link your arguments logically. To reach a higher band, you must organise your response into clear paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and use linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'however' to connect your thoughts more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'thing', 'water', and 'people'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'build poster' instead of 'create awareness campaigns' or 'pour water into the glass until the brim'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the use of very simple language prevent you from demonstrating a wider range of vocabulary. Try to incorporate more topic-specific academic vocabulary related to environmental policy and economics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('residents pays', 'factories... whom just dump'), article usage ('the Earth', 'the human body'), and sentence structure ('If anyone founded wasting water should be fined'). You rely almost exclusively on simple sentences, with very few attempts at complex structures. The errors occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense will help improve your score.
