Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 94 words. Because the essay is incomplete and stops mid-sentence, it fails to develop the argument or provide sufficient supporting evidence. While you state a clear position (partial agreement), the lack of development means the task is only addressed in a very limited way. To improve, you must ensure you write a full introduction, at least two body paragraphs with clear examples, and a conclusion. The current length prevents a full exploration of the prompt, which is a major constraint on your score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text shows some basic attempts at organization, such as the use of an introductory paragraph. However, because the response is incomplete, there is no clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are minimal; for instance, you use 'Day by day' to start a new paragraph, but the lack of subsequent content makes it difficult to assess your ability to link ideas effectively. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your arguments logically once you have expanded your content.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the topic, such as 'scarcity', 'fundamental', and 'acute problem'. However, there are some errors in word choice and grammar, such as 'one of the most essential element' (should be 'elements') and 'an access to' (should be 'access to'). The range of vocabulary is limited due to the short length of the response. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure subject-verb agreement is consistent throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'one the most crucial part of humans life' (missing 'of' and possessive 'human's'), and punctuation issues, such as the unnecessary comma in 'cooking and, washing'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors and the lack of a full range of complex sentence structures limit the score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and article usage to improve your accuracy.
