Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today’s world, water consumption significantly rose due to miss used of water. Access clean water is basic need to survive in daily life for humans. Therefore, government should provide free of charge. I strongly disagree with the given statement.

From one perspective, human need clean water for stay alive in day-to-day life. Because, water is use in every situation in everyday life like, from drinking to use for daily routine. If clean water was not provided by authorities, it can affect individual’s health. For this reasons government should provide free of charge crystal clear water to society. It directly affects economic growth of nation. For instance, those peoples who came from poor background they all are not financially stable. They cannot pay charges for access clear water to democrat.

Oppositely, government take charges form peoples is beneficial for nation’s growth. In present time peoples used clear water more than required. Therefore, poor individuals were not received required amount of water, and they all are not survive without clear or drinking water. That’s the reason government should take some basic charges from society. And also do some activity to save water. It also helps nation’s growth. For example, authorities took low charges for access clean water, poor peoples also can afford the clean water and those who financially stable they used only required amount of water.

In my opinion, it is beneficial to take some fee for accessing clean water for society and country. It helps to maintain health of individuals those who came lower category. Moreover, government should develop system for recycling the wastage water.

In conclusion, water is defining crucial role in people lives. If it is provided free of charge, peoples were used more than required. It affects directly to individual’s lives. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout, arguing against free water supply. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While you provide reasons for your stance, some arguments are repetitive or lack clarity, such as the explanation regarding 'economic growth' and the connection between 'poor background' and 'democrat'. The ideas are relevant, but the supporting details could be more logically structured to fully persuade the reader. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed argument rather than jumping between points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'From one perspective', 'Oppositely', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Oppositely' to introduce a counter-argument. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences feel disjointed due to grammatical errors. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing feel more natural and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'water consumption', 'authorities', and 'recycling'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'miss used of water' (misuse), 'democrat' (likely meant 'the state' or 'the government'), and 'wastage water' (wastewater). These errors occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word forms are accurate in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('government should provide', 'peoples used'), missing articles ('Access clean water'), and incorrect verb tenses ('peoples were used'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent and affect the overall fluency of the essay. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and verb tense consistency, to ensure your writing is more polished.
