Student answer (Band 5.0)
Every human being should have privilage of clean water as it is basic neccesity to survive. Today, in this essay I will discuss if clean water supply should be provided free of charge or not.
Water is a survival necessity of a human being, however, humans need to drink clean water, as dirty water can be really harmful for their health and chances of diseases increase by drinking it. Clean water is really important for survival as well as to maintain good health. Looking at clean water's importance I would agree that it should be provided free of charge to everyone directly at home, as it is really convenient and for the betterment of the human race.
However it is really important to drink clean water, to the government it can be really difficult and expensive to do so, as the water needs to be aquafied before it reaches our home, we need bigger and better facilities that can deliver this, as of today i would say yes, it is possible but i also think that it is feasible. Creating machines and filters that would work at this kind of level would need one of the most investements ever done before as well as manpower and researchers.
In the near future, i would love to see some kind of action taken upon the discussed topic, government need to do something about it whether it be a start on researchers alone trying to find an alternate solution or try to implement easier way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by stating a clear position, but the development is limited. While you acknowledge the difficulty of implementation, the arguments remain somewhat superficial. For instance, you mention the need for 'bigger and better facilities' and 'manpower' without explaining the economic or logistical implications of providing water free of charge. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of the trade-offs involved, such as the impact on government budgets or the potential for water wastage if it is free. The essay is slightly repetitive in its focus on the importance of clean water rather than the feasibility of the 'free of charge' proposal.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. The transition between the importance of water and the logistical challenges is abrupt. While you use some cohesive devices like 'however' and 'in the near future', they are used somewhat mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the third paragraph where the connection between 'aquafied' water and the feasibility of the project is not fully articulated. Improving the use of linking words to show logical relationships between sentences would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You use basic terms like 'really important' and 'really difficult' repeatedly, which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also some errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'privilage' (privilege), 'neccesity' (necessity), and 'aquafied' (purified/treated). The phrase 'one of the most investements ever done' is also non-standard. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to public policy and infrastructure.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government need to do'), punctuation errors (missing commas after introductory phrases), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'as of today i would say yes, it is possible but i also think that it is feasible'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of control over complex structures and consistent minor errors in grammar and punctuation prevent a higher score. Focusing on sentence variety and proofreading for basic errors will help.
