Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified the core issue—the balance between water as a right and the need for conservation—and provided relevant arguments regarding wastage and the value of resources. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'urban areas' and 'R.O. purifiers' is slightly tangential and does not directly support the argument against free water as effectively as a discussion on economic sustainability or infrastructure maintenance might. To reach a higher band, ensure that every sentence directly advances your central argument rather than providing descriptive background information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In addition' and 'In conclusion', to signal transitions. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting sentences with 'So' or 'For which'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, 'For which authorities are working' lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the flow and logical progression of your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'contemporary world', 'authorities', and 'wastage'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'admire the usage of water' (instead of 'value' or 'conserve') and 'get full access water' (which should be 'having full access to water'). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. You rely on some repetitive phrasing, which limits the range of your expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Water play' (subject-verb agreement), 'Mostly people' (incorrect adverb usage), and 'As the growth in population' (missing preposition 'with'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
