Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating an agreement with the idea of free water. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention that free water helps all classes of people and allows for savings, the arguments are not fully extended. For instance, the link between free water and 'investment schemes' is a bit tangential and lacks a strong logical connection to the core issue of water as a human right. To improve, focus on providing more substantial arguments, such as the public health benefits or the economic impact on poverty reduction, rather than focusing on personal savings.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'WHICH IS MENTION BELOW' or 'WHICH IS GIVE THEM'. The flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Referencing is also inconsistent, with pronouns like 'they' sometimes lacking a clear antecedent. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would help improve the logical flow between your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'WATER PLAY VITAL ROLE' (should be 'plays a vital role') and 'INVESTMENT SKIMS' (should be 'schemes'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations and using more academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'subsidized', 'socio-economic', or 'infrastructure', rather than relying on basic descriptive words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'WATER PLAY VITAL ROLE'), article usage (e.g., 'ACCESS OF THE CLEAN WATER'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'THERE ARE MANY HUMAN RIGHTS ARE PEOPLE EASILY ACCESS'). Many sentences are fragments or run-on sentences. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and pay closer attention to verb tenses and pluralization.
