Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is no iota of doubt that the paradigm shift has been noticed in all domains of life.Owing to this access to pure water is everyone's right and each house ought to have a pure water connection without any charge.I whole heartedly discord with this statement.

Fundamentally there are predominantly factors evidently triggering towards this are discussed here.Water plays a crucial role in our life and if the people get pure water without any cost they will use excessive and waste in large quantity as they do not have to pay anything for that which there can be water shortage and some people will get water in excessive amount and some will not get enough to drink pure water.

Is there any other supportive point? Yes,indeed. There is no life without water and by wasting pure water in large amount will effect ground water also as the ground water level will go more deep.To vindicate, the survey has been conducted by the Richard Brown eminent personality of Oxford university concluded that the ground water has got down about 25 feet in last 1 year which will causes problem in future

To conclude, although clean water is a basic human right yet it must not be free of cost to protect water wastage

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against free water. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the argument. While the main idea—that free water leads to waste—is relevant, the development is thin. The example provided (Richard Brown from Oxford) feels forced and lacks sufficient context to be persuasive. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and examples to meet the length requirement, ensuring that your points are fully developed rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes awkward, such as the rhetorical question 'Is there any other supportive point? Yes, indeed.' This style is inappropriate for an academic essay. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, making the progression of ideas feel unnatural. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated linking words (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'in addition') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a reasonable range of vocabulary, but there are frequent issues with collocation and word choice. Phrases like 'no iota of doubt' and 'triggering towards this' sound unnatural or misused. Additionally, there is some repetition of basic terms like 'pure water' and 'ground water.' While you attempt to use more academic language, the lack of precision often hinders the clarity of your message. Focus on learning how words are used in context rather than just memorizing complex-sounding phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains several grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'which there can be water shortage' and 'will causes problem.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate, leading to confusion. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and ensuring that your punctuation is correct to improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
