Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 202 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. For example, the discussion on rural areas and the mention of Timor-Leste lack the depth required for an academic essay. The conclusion is also incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and ensure the essay is fully completed within the word limit.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' to organize ideas, which provides a degree of structure. However, the progression of ideas is often hindered by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the overall flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'In another country such as America the have to pay', where the subject pronoun is misused. Improving the logical connection between sentences and ensuring a complete, coherent conclusion would significantly enhance the score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'clean water' and 'use'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'impact for healthly' instead of 'impact health' or 'impact on health'. Some words are misspelled or used incorrectly, such as 'acess' (access) and 'individulas' (individuals). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including more precise academic terms related to public policy and health, and pay closer attention to correct spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the don't have access', 'the have to pay') and article usage. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'as a result the Diseases caused by contaminated water', which lacks a main verb. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing around commas. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a good starting point for improvement.
