Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widely argued that access to clean water is a basic human right. I strongly agree this is because that is a fundamental rights of every individual that acquire a clean water without any charges because it is give so many benefits it makes people life healthy and gives social equality to everyone.

To begin with, providing access to clean water is make people lives healthy. This is because safe drinking water prevent waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid. If people can not afford clean water , so they forced to drink water in polluted places. Aa a result, goverment end up with providing healthcar amenities to people and than they give clean water. This is not only for the good health but also for the equality.

Furthermore, gives people to the social equality. Water is not luxury product but it is important for daily life because it is necessity for drinking, cooking, and maintain hygien . Low-income families can not pay high amount for the water so goverment should provied enough supply of water to houshold. For instence, in many countries provied minimum supply of water to without paying while charge for addition use.

In conclusion, I completely believes that give clean water is important for health and fairness so that people can not face problems in their routin life. nevertheless charging for the excenssive use of the water is prectica way it is overcomes water problems in rular area where water servies is not providing regulars.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position on the provision of free water. However, the essay falls slightly short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the main arguments regarding health and social equality are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped and repetitive. The conclusion introduces a new, nuanced point about charging for excessive use, which contradicts the initial absolute stance of 'free of charge for every home.' This lack of consistency in the argument prevents a higher score. To improve, ensure all ideas are fully extended with specific examples and maintain a consistent position throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'Aa a result, goverment end up with providing healthcar amenities to people and than they give clean water.' Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors. While the paragraphing is present, the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the sophistication required for a higher band. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the ideas connect more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision needed for a higher score. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'goverment', 'healthcar', 'hygien', 'provied', 'instence', 'routin', 'excenssive', 'prectica', 'rular', 'servies'). Furthermore, word choice is often imprecise, such as 'give so many benefits' or 'water is not luxury product.' The student relies on a limited set of words, and the lack of control over spelling and collocation occasionally hinders the reader's understanding. Expanding vocabulary through reading and focusing on correct spelling will be essential for improvement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'access to clean water is make people lives healthy'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'that is a fundamental rights of every individual that acquire a clean water'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors throughout the text prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
