Student answer (Band 5.0)

As we know that human body made by 95% the water and it is also the basic requirement for living life. we can live without food for about one week but without water we cannot survive more than 2 days. world have 97% of water in the form of oceans and only 3% have a land where we are living.

water of the oceans we cannot drink because it have high salt ratio in it and not suitable for the human life. many of the countries are suffering from the deficiency of water due to their poor infrastructure of water resources. Asia is one of biggest region of the world which is suffering with this pandemic. some of the countries even don't have a clean water supply in their province. for example Pakistan is suffering a clean water deficiency in its two biggest province which are SINDH and BLOCHISTAN. people drink water from the dirty wells or pounds which only collect water from the rain. the whole population drink water with their animals even there is not a single line for water supply. They bare suffering from severe diseases and mostly are viral infections due to bacteria in their drinking water. some of them can afford fresh water tank for their life and protect their families but this should be free of cost facility given to them. WHO(world health organization) should have there involvement in this issue to work with the governments of the countries which are suffering.

I am agree with that clean water supply for free of cost is the basic need of life for every human on earth. and it requires a serious focus and it is the main point to focus by the every government and authorities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water access. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you provide a relevant example regarding Pakistan, the argument lacks depth regarding the economic or logistical implications of providing free water, which is a key part of the debate. The essay focuses heavily on the necessity of water rather than the feasibility or fairness of making it free of charge. To improve, ensure you balance the 'why' (human right) with the 'how' (government responsibility/economic impact) to provide a more comprehensive argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'however') to link sentences and arguments logically. For instance, the transition from the global water statistics to the specific example of Pakistan is abrupt. Additionally, the paragraphing is inconsistent, with the final conclusion being very brief and attached to the body paragraph. Using more varied linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'human body made by 95% the water' instead of 'composed of' or 'consists of', and 'suffering with this pandemic' (referring to water scarcity as a pandemic is inaccurate). You also use repetitive phrasing like 'clean water supply' and 'suffering'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and improve the sophistication of your expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include missing articles ('world have 97% of water'), incorrect verb forms ('I am agree' instead of 'I agree'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('human body made by'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization (e.g., 'SINDH and BLOCHISTAN'). To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles, as these errors are currently quite frequent.
