Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, everyone should have access to a free supply of clean water because it is essential for life and public health. If questioned, I firmaly vote in favour with the laid motif. The reason for my preference are elaborated further.
The foremost reasion for my opinion is that clean water is basic human need. It is prevents diseases and improves public health. While, everyone including poor families, should have safe drinking water. For example, free clean water reduces waterborne diseases such as cholera. It imoroves hygiene and sanitation. Such as families can wash hands, clean food, and maintain hygiene. Meanwhile, healthy citizens reduce health care cost. for instance, fever waterborn diseases mean less pressure on hospital. Healthy children can attend school regularly instead of missing classes due to illness.
In addition to my viewpoint Governments should provide a basic amount free, but excessive use can be charge. While, it is encourages responsible water consumption. However, governments helps maintain water infrastructure. for example, many countries provide subsidised water while charging for high uses. morever, it is improve qualitiy of life also protects valnerable group suche as , elderly people, and disable individuals especially benefits from free access.
In conclusion, I believe every household should receive a basic amount of clean water free of charge. while, extra consumption should be paid for.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 220 words. This under-length significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the main arguments regarding public health and infrastructure are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and lack the depth required for a higher band score. The conclusion is brief, and the overall development of the argument is constrained by the lack of sufficient word count, leading to an under-developed response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the misuse of 'While' at the start of sentences (e.g., 'While, everyone including poor families...') and 'Such as' to begin a sentence. These errors disrupt the flow of ideas. While there is a logical progression from the health benefits to the economic/infrastructure argument, the transitions between sentences are often clunky, and the referencing is occasionally unclear.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'firmaly', 'reasion', 'imoroves', 'fever' (instead of 'fewer'), 'valnerable', and 'suche'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'waterborne diseases', 'subsidised', and 'infrastructure', the overall range is narrow, and the misuse of basic connectors limits the ability to convey more complex ideas with precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies on a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The reason for my preference are elaborated'), incorrect punctuation, and awkward phrasing ('can be charge', 'it is encourages'). The misuse of commas and sentence fragments (e.g., 'Such as families can wash hands...') indicates a lack of control over complex structures. These errors occur frequently and occasionally impede the clarity of the message.
