Student answer (Band 6.0)
Yes I truly agree that clean water is basic human right but whether every home should have free supply of water is highly debated topic in today's world and it largely depends on country's economy, infrastructure , and country's environmental condition.
In every country , every people should have right to access to clean water for free of cost.
It ensures life saving sanitation and hydration are never dependent on individual's health .When governments commodify water, low-income families are forced to make dangerous trade-offs between paying for utilities, food, or medical care. For instance, the United Nations explicitly recognizes access to water as a human right, noting that water poverty traps communities in cycles of disease and economic stagnation. Eliminating water bills for a basic volume of usage removes this financial stress and guarantees a dignified standard of living for all citizens.Furthermore, a free domestic water supply yields massive public health benefits that save governments money in the long term. Clean water prevents the spread of preventable, waterborne illnesses like cholera and typhoid, which frequently overwhelm public healthcare systems. When households have unrestricted access to water for washing, cooking, and drinking, community hygiene improves and disease transmission drops. Investing public funds into free water distribution is highly cost-effective, as the money saved on emergency medical treatments far outweighs the costs of treating and piping the water. In conclusion, ensuring a free basic water supply to every home is a moral obligation and a smart public health strategy. Removing financial barriers to water protects vulnerable populations from extreme poverty and drastically reduces the national burden of infectious diseases. Governments worldwide should prioritize funding water infrastructure through progressive taxation rather than charging citizens for the very resource required to stay alive.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have clearly addressed the prompt by taking a firm stance in favor of free water access. Your arguments regarding public health, economic stability, and the moral obligation of governments are well-developed and supported by relevant examples, such as the mention of the United Nations and the prevention of waterborne diseases. The response is balanced and maintains a consistent position throughout. To reach a higher band, ensure that the introduction is more formal and avoids conversational phrasing like 'Yes I truly agree'. Overall, the ideas are well-extended and directly answer the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a distinct theme—public health and economic necessity—which helps the reader follow your argument easily. You use a good range of cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' to link your points effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion. The flow is smooth, and the relationship between sentences is clear, though some transitions could be slightly more varied to enhance the sophistication of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, using terms like 'commodify', 'water poverty', 'economic stagnation', and 'progressive taxation' effectively. This shows an ability to use less common lexical items with an awareness of style. There are occasional minor issues, such as 'every people' (should be 'everyone' or 'all people') and 'free of cost' (which is slightly redundant). However, these do not impede communication and you generally use words with precision. Continuing to refine collocations will help you move toward a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'When governments commodify water...' and the relative clause '...which frequently overwhelm public healthcare systems'. The majority of your sentences are error-free, and your control of punctuation is generally good. There are a few minor slips, such as missing articles ('depends on country's economy') and the awkward phrasing in the opening sentence. Despite these, your grammatical control is strong, and the errors are non-systematic and do not cause any difficulty for the reader.
