Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention poverty and health, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The essay tends to restate the same points rather than exploring the economic or social implications of providing free water. To improve, you should focus on developing distinct arguments, such as the impact on public health versus the potential economic burden on governments, to provide a more balanced and comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', they are sometimes used incorrectly or feel mechanical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between slum conditions and the conclusion is abrupt. Improving the logical flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'clean water', 'free of cost', and 'compulsion'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'carbs food' instead of 'nutritious food' or 'full of bacteria water' instead of 'contaminated water'. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary and use more precise terms related to the topic, such as 'sanitation', 'socio-economic status', or 'subsidized utilities'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('several peoples dies'), article usage ('the water supply'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or awkward, such as 'Clean water is included in basic human right.' While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the clarity of your arguments. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and preposition usage.
