Student answer (Band 6.0)
Unanimously, in the period of globalization, many people are lacking the basic necessities of life, like food, electricity clean drinking water. This has been the prominent topic of discussion amongst people. Well, in my opinion, I strongly agree that people should be given clean drinking water for free and the supporting towards my view will be discussed in the subsequent paragraphs.
Firstly, supporting my agreement to the given statement, I firmly have a belief that fresh drinking water is needed by all the species for their survival. Additionally, another aspect which propels my view is that without fresh drinking water people could die out of dehydration. For instance, Many African countries do not have the access to clean drinking water and the people are barely surviving in those regions.
Secondly, another supporting aspect favoring this statement is that there is no paradox water being the basic human need and fundamental right of the people and governments are bound to provide it for free to the citizens of their respective countries without imposing any charges or taxes as the lack of water can result in more and more fatalities. Without free access to water, it would be like going back to the drawing board situation. To exemplify, During the natural calamities, other nations do provide basic amenities like food and water without charging a single penny.
In conclusion, I pen down highlighting that the aforementioned given pointers heavily support my sense of belief regarding the access to clean drinking water for free, which are worthy enough to strongly support my view point. To make it more effective, a joint effort is needed by the government and the citizens of the country by not wasting a drop.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that water is a basic human right and that governments should provide it, the arguments lack depth. For instance, you mention African countries and natural calamities as examples, but these are not fully linked to the economic or logistical implications of providing free water for every home, which is the core of the prompt. To improve, focus on extending your arguments by exploring the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims, rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'the supporting towards my view will be discussed'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth flow, making the connection between ideas feel a bit disjointed at times. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds naturally upon the previous one would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'globalization', 'necessities', 'fundamental right', and 'fatalities'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'no paradox water being the basic human need' and 'going back to the drawing board situation', which do not fit the context perfectly. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations more accurately and avoiding overly informal or clunky expressions. Expanding your range to include more precise academic vocabulary would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the supporting towards my view', 'there is no paradox water being', and 'the aforementioned given pointers'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with grammatical precision. Proofreading for these recurring minor errors will help you achieve a higher score.
