Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, clean water supply is a serious issue affecting societies across the world. It is widely believed that this issue has become increasingly significant in the modern society. Everyone believes that clean water is a basic human right. While it is true that clean water is a basic need for everyone nowadays, i strongly agree with the idea that every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. This essay will discuss the particular ways to fulfill this basic human need with clear reasons and examples.
To get access to the clean water is to firstly understand the risks associated with the dirty and polluted water. One of the major risk is health issues. For example, if people use polluted water, they are more likely to have diseases like malaria, dengue, or other skin problems.
Additionally, Dirty water can also affect the body organs of human.
For instance, those people who use dirty water regularly can have their lungs or kidneys affected by that water.
One important way to get rid of dirty water and make it easy to use the clean water is to install the filtration system at homes. For example, many people have installed small filters at home to get access to clean water and this is quite cheap that everyone can afford.
This will result in easy access to clean water at homes.
On the other hand, Government should also take action against this issue. For instance that street filtration plants should be installed in the cities and surrounding areas where people live and the water from those filtration plants would be free of cost for the public
This will lead to help people get clean water without paying anything. It would be more helpful for those people who cannot afford filters at their home.
In addition, there should be a system through which water supply is provided to every home and must be free of charge.
In this way, people will start using clean water and the use of dirty water can be eliminated permanently from people lives, making it more healthy to their lives.
In conclusion, I strongly agree with the idea that clen water is basic necessity of human, and that's why all the people should have access to the clean water in a way that they should not have to pay anything to get the clean water. Every home should have a water supply, making it more convenient for people to access water for their daily use.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide reasons for why water should be free, the argument lacks depth regarding the economic or logistical implications of such a policy. The examples provided, such as the mention of malaria or lung issues, are relevant but could be more precisely linked to the argument for 'free' supply rather than just the general need for clean water. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the discussion remains at a somewhat superficial level, preventing it from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Additionally', 'For instance', and 'On the other hand', to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For example, the transition between the health risks of dirty water and the solution of filtration systems is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the problem from the proposed solutions, which helps the reader follow your argument. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'filtration system' and 'public'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'make it easy to use the clean water' or 'making it more healthy to their lives'. There are also minor spelling errors like 'clen'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to public policy, infrastructure, and socio-economic issues, rather than relying on simpler, repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the clean water', 'the dirty water') and subject-verb agreement ('Government should also take action', 'many people have installed... and this is quite cheap'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'To get access to the clean water is to firstly understand the risks'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on article usage and refining complex sentence construction would greatly improve your accuracy.
