Student answer (Band 5.0)

Water is the basic human right and the body of human is 70% made of water so water make a vital role in human life, while the clean water supply is also provided in every home free of charge.

Yes, i agree with this beacuse today the water level is decreases in the world and water is esential part of life. Therefore the clean water is good for health, due to the deficiency of water in world in some countries the people use dirty water due to that the people of that countries face many health issues.

Access of clean water is nowadays difficult for many people. Therefore the governments need to give clean water supply to every home that every person use it or take care of himself and that is the major impact on human life.

When i was at my college hostel the water supply that is provided by the college is not clean or pure and the result is that many students their who lived in hostel become ill or face many health issues then we complain the authority of college to fix that water supply problem beacasue the water that provided is not clean so within hours they can fix then we realie how much the clean water supply can imapct on human life

The conclusion is that access of clean water supply is a basic human right and the government make sure to provide the clean water supply to every home free of charge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide a personal anecdote about a college hostel, the argument remains somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the economic or social implications of providing free water, rather than just stating that it is essential. The ideas are relevant, but they lack the depth and extension required for a higher score. The conclusion is present but repetitive of the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'Therefore'). Some transitions are awkward, such as 'due to that the people of that countries face many health issues.' The logical progression between sentences is sometimes interrupted by grammatical errors, making the flow feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to previous nouns would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. You frequently use simple terms like 'clean water,' 'health issues,' and 'human life.' There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. Additionally, there are several word-choice errors, such as 'the water level is decreases' instead of 'decreasing' and 'deficiency of water' where 'scarcity' would be more appropriate. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'water make a vital role'), article usage (e.g., 'in world'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'the water that provided is not clean'). You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often result in errors, such as run-on sentences or incorrect verb tenses. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex structures.
