Student answer (Band 5.5)
The issue of water supply should be provide free of cost has become widely debated topic in the recent years, attracting attention from various group of people and individuals. Some are think that access to fresh water is a primary human right. So all home ought have a water availability that supplied free of cost, arguing that it has several merits. Others strongly disagree, believing that it leads to potential drawbacks. In my opinion, I wholeheartedly disagree with this statement. Throughout this essay, my stance will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs with valid reason and appropriate examples.
To begin with, there are numerous reason why water supply should not given without charges. The primary and most significant factor is that it increases waste of water. Several chemical organization have used large amount of water for product manufacturing without any paid. Because of that some desert areas have suffered from the drought.
Additionally, another contributing factor is that it decrease s value of water in human life. If water supply provides free, so people will use excessive amount of water in unnecessary work such as utensils washing, cloth washing and etc.
On the other hand, other people say that water ought provides free because it is a main human right. First and foremost, all individuals can utilized water without using any financial waste. Low income farmers can used limited water in their farm due that food productivity has decreased.
To sum up, although water supply that is provided free of charge as a result, all families can easily access water resources in their daily routine, I firmly believe that water sources should not distribute free of cost, because of it leads water pollution and decreases value of water in human beings

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against free water supply. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'chemical organizations' wasting water is somewhat vague and lacks a clear connection to the broader economic or social implications of free water. The points are presented but remain under-developed, and the counter-argument section is slightly confusing, as it seems to contradict your own stance without a strong rebuttal. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea supported by specific examples or logical consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Some are think' and 'Because of that' are used to link ideas, but they do not always flow naturally. The transition between the counter-argument and your own opinion is abrupt. While there is a logical progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional awkward phrasing makes the text feel disjointed at times. Improving the variety of transition signals would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of incorrect word forms or collocations, such as 'without any paid' instead of 'without payment' and 'financial waste' instead of 'financial burden'. The repetition of basic terms like 'water supply' and 'free of cost' limits the range. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that word forms (nouns, verbs, adjectives) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Some are think', 'it decrease s value'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms ('water ought provides'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
