Student answer (Band 6.0)
Access to clean water is essential for human survival, and some people believe that every household should receive a basic water supply free of charge. I strongly agree with this view, because clean water is necessary for maintaining health and ensuring a basic standard of living.
Firstly, water plays a vital role in all humans life. It is used in basic everyday life in every home. If water supply is not paid, as many peoples do not pays attention towards saving of water, everybody knows that there is only 2.5% of fresh water to drink. Many water parks waste water like the water is property of their father. Also children do not pays attention towards to water. They also waste water very much.
Furthermore, it very essential to have water supply paid as government also needs money to clean water which drinkable to their nation, the providing unlimited water free of charge could encourage people to waste water. Water is a limited resource, and if people do not have to pay for it, they may be less careful about their consumption. For example, people might leave taps running or use excessive amounts of water for washing cars and gardens. Therefore, charging a reasonable amount for water can encourage responsible usage and help governments maintain the water-supply system.
On other hand, People need water not only for drinking but also for cooking, bathing and maintaining personal hygiene. If families cannot afford a sufficient amount of water, they may be forced to use unsafe sources, which can cause serious health problems. For example, people living in poorer communities may rely on contaminated rivers or untreated water, increasing the risk of diseases. Providing a basic amount of clean water free of charge would therefore protect public health.
To conclude, i fully agree that water supply needs a small amount as of water supply bill, many people who do not afford this they can write letter to government and government should give them free water supply who are needy peoples.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but presents a significant contradiction. You state you 'strongly agree' that water should be free, yet your second paragraph argues that water should be paid for to prevent waste, and your conclusion suggests a compromise. This inconsistency makes your position unclear throughout the essay. While you provide some relevant points regarding health and conservation, the development of these ideas is hindered by the conflicting stance. To improve, ensure your position is consistent from the introduction to the conclusion and that your supporting arguments directly reinforce that specific position rather than undermining it.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is disrupted by the contradictory arguments mentioned above. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'On other hand', but some transitions feel mechanical or are used incorrectly. For instance, 'On other hand' is used to introduce a point that actually supports the idea of free water, which confuses the reader. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between ideas is occasionally disjointed due to the shift in your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas. You use some topic-specific terms like 'standard of living', 'consumption', and 'personal hygiene'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'water is property of their father' and 'as water supply bill'. These errors occasionally impede the natural flow of the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal or non-idiomatic expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many peoples do not pays attention', 'children do not pays attention') and article usage. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to basic subject-verb agreement rules and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately. Proofreading for these common errors would significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
