Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention health and hygiene, the arguments are not fully extended or supported with specific examples or logical depth. The essay relies on generalizations, such as 'water is a basic need', without exploring the economic or practical implications of providing free water to every household. To improve, you should provide more detailed reasoning and perhaps consider the counter-argument or the logistical challenges to demonstrate a more balanced and thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed due to the repetitive nature of the sentences. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often misused or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'Because' to start sentences. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'essential', 'basic', and 'free of cost'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'free burden supply' and 'deceased some burden'. The use of '70./.' instead of '70%' is also inappropriate for a formal essay. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to public policy, economics, and health, and work on using words in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede the flow of communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'water... which are provided'), article usage (e.g., 'in earth'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'without water life is not exit in earth'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some attempts at complex ones that are often grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses, prepositions, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
