Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued by some people that filtered and fresh water is the basic right of people, government should provide free of cost clean water to everyone. Although some might disagree with this notion, but I completely agree with this statement not only because free filtered water is compulsory for health and nutrition but also free of cost water is budget friendly.
There are viable advantages of free of cost water supply. Firstly, free filtered water supply is compulsory for health. As when people have an opportunity of free filtered water they will be stay healthy. Take an example of China, 99 percent drink boiled water so there is minimum annual ratio of sick people. Thus, people who have opportunity of free clean and fresh water they are quite healthy as compared to others.
Secondly, apart from first advantage, free supply of clean water is extremely beneficial for healthy nutrition. As we use fresh water for agriculture, people can have access to healthy nutrition. For instance, recently Health Minister of Japan said that till 2030 we will be able to provide healthy nutrition to everyone. Hence, free of cost clean water has the potential to the access of healthy diet.
Finally, when government provide free filtered water to the public, they can save from their monthly budget.
To sum up, I believe that free of cost water supply is the basic right of people not only because it is compulsory for health and nutrition but also it is budget friendly. Everyone in the state has the right to stay healthy and wealthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'budget-friendly' water is mentioned in the introduction and conclusion but is not developed in a body paragraph, appearing only as a single sentence. The examples provided, such as the reference to China and Japan, are somewhat vague and lack the necessary depth to fully support the claims. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the economic or social implications of free water rather than simply stating that it is 'compulsory' or 'beneficial'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Finally' to signal the structure. However, the use of these markers is somewhat mechanical. Furthermore, some sentences lack smooth transitions, such as the abrupt shift in the third paragraph regarding nutrition. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect ideas more naturally rather than relying on repetitive structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely heavily on repetitive phrases like 'free of cost' and 'free filtered water'. There is an attempt to use some academic vocabulary, such as 'viable advantages' and 'compulsory', but the collocation is sometimes unnatural. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and topic-specific terminology related to public policy, economics, and infrastructure to demonstrate a broader range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. For example, 'people will be stay healthy' should be 'people will stay healthy', and 'the access of healthy diet' is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
