Student answer (Band 5.0)

The availability of fresh water to every household without any cost included is a basic human right. I, agree to this statement.

overall, clean water is every human basic right. but water become industrilized, in many places people pay to use water. other places fresh and clean water is wasted and polluting the rivers by installing factories and transfering its swege to water bodies.

The clean water became a business. nowadays, people buying drinking water. we are habituated with buying water which has to free for everyone. if this continues in future companys controll the water supply. poor people may be cannot afford clean water. i strongly believe clean water is a basic human right.

pollution of water bodies, many factories are build at reverside and the pollution of factories were released into water bodies. by this pollution will increase high level of water contamination this will lead to increase in dieases it reflect unable to use water for house hold purpose. this will to people living reverside will effected with short of clean water. in many cities water become a large business.

saving the water is also every human right. need to reduce wastage of water, save ground water by limiting borewell drilling. and reducing the unwanted usage like water washing vechiles daily, spilling excessive water.

finally, i agree to the statement clean water is a basic human right. and it is also every human duty to stop wasting of water and do not encourage industrilizition of water and stop polluting water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position on the provision of free water. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the industrialization of water and pollution, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For example, the point about factories polluting water is mentioned twice without providing a clear link to why this necessitates free water for all homes. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported argument rather than restating the same points. The conclusion is present, but the overall development remains basic, which limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'by this pollution will increase' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively link the ideas. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs is often disjointed. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect sentences and ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'clean water', 'business', and 'pollution'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'industrilized', 'swege', 'reverside', 'dieases', and 'vechiles', which occasionally impede the reader's flow. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To improve, work on learning topic-specific collocations related to environmental issues and public policy, and pay closer attention to the spelling of common academic words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('water become', 'factories are build'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which makes the text difficult to follow. There is very little evidence of complex sentence structures, and the control over basic grammar is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering simple sentence construction first, ensuring correct verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for basic punctuation and capitalization is also essential.
