Student answer (Band 5.5)

Access to clean water is fundamental human right. It is heated debate whether every home right to access clean water without any charges. I totally agree with this statement besides its some issues.

Admittedly , who opposed this view believe that providing pure water to every home ultimately lie burden on Goverments budget. No doubt , it would take a proper workforce and authorities to observe the water . On the other hand, if people will get free of cost water they would be careless in using water . Allowing often public to negelect how much money and work is behind this huge task.

Those who believe that having clean water without any cost would ensure a proper and modern society. Pure water help people to stay healthy and control there budget nicely. Most importantly, in some regions individulas especially women and little children have to go far from homes in search of clean water . This ultimately lead to children stop their education for completing the daily home task. Moreover, womens also face hardships providing clean water to their family.

Furthermore, those who don't get clean water always face lacking of water in their regular life. These all things make things worse specifically for poor nations.

No doubt, providing clean water need responsible effort from authorities but it esure healthy and modern nation. Governments with the help of developed countries can make situation better.

In conclusion, access to clean water is an essential human right rather than a privilege. Threfore , governments and international organisations should work together to ensure that every individual has access to safe and clean water, regardless of their financial or social status

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in favor of providing free water. The ideas are relevant, such as the health benefits and the burden on women and children in developing regions. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The counter-argument regarding the government budget and potential waste is introduced but not fully explored or refuted with depth. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main argument. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of the consequences of your position, rather than listing points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Admittedly', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. There are also instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'These all things make things worse', which lacks a precise antecedent. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the counter-argument from the main supporting points, which contributes to the overall clarity of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'fundamental' and 'privilege', but there are also persistent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'heated debate whether every home right to access' (missing 'has a') and 'face lacking of water' (should be 'face a lack of water'). Spelling errors like 'Goverments', 'individulas', and 'esure' are noticeable. Improving precision and accuracy in word formation would significantly enhance this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Pure water help people', 'providing clean water need responsible effort'), missing articles ('in search of clean water'), and awkward phrasing ('Allowing often public to negelect'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
