Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowdays clean water is a basic human right has become an increasingly important issue in society. Some people believe that every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. While other have different opinion. In my view clean the water is very good topic to discussion because without water there is nothing and people also suffer with many situation.
The first and most important reason is that all species need water to survive. This is because without water there is no living creature can survive here.In other words water is very important thing in everyone life. For example without water fish is not survive on the earth As a result water is very important.
Another significant point is that i agree with this point. This is particularly important because water has many type of minerals that human being need to survive on the earth. This clearly shows that the clean water is a basic human right because the water supply is provided free of charge.
In conclusion i agree with this topic that given in this question that clean water is a basic need of human right. I believe that whenever people pollute water there is fine or charges to clean the water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'minerals' is not clearly linked to the economic argument of 'free of charge' water. The ideas are under-developed, and the conclusion introduces a new, irrelevant point about pollution fines rather than summarising your main arguments. To improve, you must expand on your reasoning with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for full task development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is weak. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and sometimes inaccurate way, such as 'In other words' which does not accurately introduce a restatement of the previous sentence. Referencing is often unclear, and the flow between sentences is disjointed. For example, the transition from the importance of water to the argument about it being free is abrupt and lacks logical connection. You need to use a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that builds towards your conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'important', 'water', and 'survive'. There is a lack of precision in word choice, such as 'suffer with many situation' and 'very good topic to discussion'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text. You should also focus on correct word forms, such as using 'discuss' instead of 'discussion' in the context provided.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There is a limited range of grammatical structures, with most sentences being simple or containing errors. Frequent mistakes include missing articles ('without water there is no living creature'), incorrect verb forms ('fish is not survive'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structure is often fragmented, which hinders readability. For example, 'Nowdays clean water is a basic human right has become...' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex structures.
