Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, containing only 141 words. This failure to meet the length requirement severely limits the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the arguments are underdeveloped and the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and relevant examples, ensuring the essay reaches the minimum word count. The current response only partially addresses the task due to its incomplete nature.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to the incomplete nature of the writing. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Another significant point', the lack of paragraphing and the abrupt ending make the progression of ideas difficult to follow. The sentences are often run-on or lack proper punctuation, which hinders the flow of the argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked logically with a variety of cohesive devices, while also ensuring the essay is completed in full.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'claenwater' and 'availbility', and some awkward phrasing like 'on the same wavelength with them'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited and does not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you proofread for spelling mistakes. Expanding your range of collocations will also help improve your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with articles ('the fewer diseases'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'one of the main reason for my approval to this view point is the better public health.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Practicing complex sentence structures will also help, but accuracy must be the priority.
