Student answer (Band 5.5)

Water is an essential part of each and every creature of the world. On that note, Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. I strongly believe that I completely agree with this trend.

There are too many reasons which justifies my opinion. Firstly, water is essential part of every human being , without water people can not live longer. so government should spend most of their money to provide water supply in every home, because it is essential. For example, if people did not get water supply at home then they have to go outside for waterbodies like lake, rivers and sometimes it may be difficult. Secondly, Providing water supply to free of charge in each an every home it may be beneficial for government because they get popularity because they done good job for individuals.

Furthermore, if people get free clean water supply they can live longer used clear water for their lively hood and from clean water people did not get any disease. Moreover, If people get a clean water supply at home and clean water have some minerals which require for body balance and if they have good health then they can do better in their life and also do hard work in their life. For instance, if people have good health and physically fit they can do more productive work. Thus, this are the reasons which justify my opinion.

In conclusion, even-though provide clean water supply to each and every home with free of cost it may be more costly for government and they required too much fund to fulfill this amenity, I still believe that this trend have more benefits like, it is essential, government get popularity, keep away from diseases and more productive.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument that the government would gain 'popularity' is a superficial point that does not contribute strongly to the debate on human rights or economic feasibility. While the essay covers the main points, the supporting examples, such as the mention of 'minerals' for body balance, are vague and lack academic rigor. To reach a higher band, you should focus on more sophisticated arguments, such as the long-term economic benefits of a healthy workforce or the ethical implications of privatizing essential resources.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'On that note' in the introduction, which does not fit the context. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for example, the transition between the health benefits of water and the government's responsibility could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good job', 'do better', and 'hard work', which are too informal for an academic essay. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'lively hood' (livelihood) and 'waterbodies like lake'. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated, topic-specific vocabulary related to public policy, infrastructure, and socio-economic rights, while ensuring that words are used in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this are the reasons'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. For example, 'Providing water supply to free of charge' is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and preposition usage.
