Student answer (Band 5.5)

A good and pristine water supply is a need of every citizen of any country. It is a kind of natural resource that is used by every individual, and no task cannot be accomplished without a reservoir. I strongly agree with the statement that every society should have a costless supply of water.

Water is a primary requirement for every individual in the nation it is an essential part of our life. We are so dependent on water for every purpose of life. It makes 60% of the adult human life. Also it helps plants grow, and supports all living things. Likewise, we need fresh and pure water in cooking and in hospitals. In many part of the places,, the liquid is not contributed equally across the nation. For instance, places like north side of the country people are not able to avail the fluid due to water scarcity. Moreover, the suppliers are less concerned about their duty, and there is a high chance of drought in these places. This happens when water bodies like lakes rivers and ocean dry out especially in summer season and low precipitation in rainy season. Additionally, agriculture work and floral and fauna get disturbed which ultiamtely lead to less distribution of water and other resources.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the arguments remain underdeveloped. You touch upon water scarcity and agricultural needs, but these points are not fully explored or linked back to the core argument of 'free of charge' provision. The essay lacks a conclusion, which is a critical component of a balanced Task 2 response. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more specific examples and ensure you address all parts of the prompt, including a clear summary of your position at the end.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, but the progression is hindered by the lack of a conclusion and the brevity of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical. For example, the use of 'Likewise' and 'Moreover' is a good start, but the flow within the second paragraph is disrupted by repetitive phrasing and some awkward sentence structures. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some basic terms like 'good and pristine' and 'liquid' or 'fluid' to refer to water, which feels slightly unnatural in this context. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'contributed' instead of 'distributed'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to public policy, economics, or environmental management, and focus on using words in their correct collocations to sound more natural and academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For instance, 'no task cannot be accomplished' is a double negative that confuses the meaning. You also have issues with article usage ('in many part of the places') and subject-verb agreement. Punctuation errors, such as the double comma after 'places,,', also detract from the professional quality of the writing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and article usage.
