Student answer (Band 5.5)

The basic human rights involved access to clean water that's why every home should have water supply that is provided free of cost. I completely agree with this view because helps to remove diseases and raise awareness to drink clean water .

Firstly, the use of clean and fresh water prevent the people from chronic diseases such as diarrhea , jaundice , throat and intestine issues . specially the elder people have benefits from pure water because if they get ill it is difficult for them to recover . For example , the old age home and hospitals always arrange and provide fresh food and water because it saves them from illness .

Moreover, children also need to take care of their hygiene because they have weak immune system while the young person have ability and power to well soon .

on the other hand , every home should provided with water supply free of charge because it will not lead people to drink dirty water from different resources just like tap , lakes and streams . It saves many life and help people to get aware about the importance of clean water . Besides that they can also set the rule the water should be boil before drinking. These opportunities and customs lead people to spend a healthy life . For example, if the water is provided as a reward from government children from lower class also get a chance to live a life without breathe and stomach issues .

to sum this up , every person have right to drink clean water and live a healthy life and authorities should also take step to provide the pure water to every house without any expenditure

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention health benefits and the prevention of disease, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'elder people' and 'hospitals' is not fully connected to the broader argument about government-provided water for every home. To improve, you should focus on developing your main points with more specific, logical reasoning rather than listing general health benefits. The conclusion is clear, but the overall argument would benefit from a more structured exploration of the economic or social implications of free water supply.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'on the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing (e.g., 'the young person have ability and power to well soon'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the use of punctuation—specifically the spacing around commas—is inconsistent, which detracts from the overall flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would help elevate your score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'chronic diseases', 'hygiene', and 'immune system'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'well soon' instead of 'recover quickly' and 'without breathe' instead of 'without respiratory'. There is also some repetition of basic vocabulary. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater nuance and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every person have right'), missing articles (e.g., 'the young person'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'every home should provided'). Punctuation is also a significant issue, with inconsistent spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic sentence construction and grammatical rules.
