Student answer (Band 5.5)

Access to the clean water is the fundamental human right. Water supply should be distributed without any fees to all the individuals. I personally believes yes it should be provided to everyone because water is a life, without it the life of people become worse and hazardous.

Firstly, water has many uses in every day life like you can drink, wash the cloths, daily kitchen appliances and utensils. when the water is already dirty it carries a lot of diseases like hepatitis, malaria, typhoid etc. which are very fatal to the human beings. Moreover the recent study on health by WHO in our district hyderabad stated that 65% of patients who has these kind of diseases belongs to the areas which has dirty water and had not any facilities of water supply.

Secondly, as i was a pre-medical student in my intermediate and i reminded the chapter four of biology which is on cell. In that particular chapter we study cell very deeply and we come to know that the cell is made of 90% of water so the entire human body consist of water, as far as the plants the fishes and other living organisms also survived on water. If the water is not clean it will destroy of ecosystem and affect all the living beings which ultimately produces worst problems for human beings because they are highly depended on the plants and other organisms for the food.

In Conclusion, clean water is very necessary for healthy life human. It prevents fatal diseases, Also it is beneficial for plants and other living beings on which the human are mostly dependent for food.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention health benefits and biological necessity, the arguments remain at a surface level. For instance, the discussion on the cell structure is a bit tangential and does not directly address the economic or logistical implications of providing free water, which would have strengthened the argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more focused on the core issue of the 'free of charge' aspect rather than general facts about water.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'In Conclusion' to link your points. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'these kind of diseases' without a clear antecedent in the previous sentence. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on common words like 'bad', 'dirty', and 'worst'. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'water is a life' (should be 'essential for life') and 'reminded the chapter' (should be 'recalled the chapter'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to public policy or health, and pay closer attention to word forms and usage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('I personally believes', '65% of patients... belongs'), article usage ('the clean water'), and awkward phrasing ('had not any facilities'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent article usage to improve accuracy.
