Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, numerous diseases are caused by the water and some of the rural areas does not get supply of fresh water. Due to this, many individuals state that access to fresh and clean water should be priority for humans. Whereas, every home should have a water supply that is provided at free of cost. I firmly agree with the statement that fresh water is the basic necessity for every person, and it should be totally free of charge.
In this era, getting fresh water should be topmost priority of every individual. First of all, water is basic survival need of human, and it should be clean and fresh because it is used for drinking, cooking food and various task are done by using water in daily life. Many diseases are caused by dirty water and many individuals died due to this. For example, many people lost their lives various cities of Africa because of the water disease. Secondly, providing fresh water to every home should be a reasonability of the institutions as people pay huge taxes on their income and in return, they should provide facilities of water to every house.
In this world there is huge shortage of water among the people and prices of water is getting higher day by day. Moreover, government should make more water tanks or water storage so they can collect the rainwater directly and it can be filtered by various process to each, and every person can access a fresh water at their house. Nevertheless, they should make pipelines and tanks to every society so the water can be reached to everyone as they can use the tax money for the beneficial of the society. To illustrate, many urban cities have dams and water tanks, so government provide a fresh water at free of charge.
To sum up, water is the basic human being need and without it they can survive so it should be clean and fresh to use. Government should take the responsibilities of access to fresh water at every home. As they can build tanks and storage of water and provide water at free of cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water access. The ideas are relevant, such as the health benefits and the role of government taxation. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion, which restates points already made without adding depth. While the argument is clear, the supporting examples, such as the mention of 'various cities of Africa', are vague and lack specific detail. To reach a higher band, you should aim to explore the economic or logistical implications of 'free' water more thoroughly, rather than simply reiterating that it is a basic necessity.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'To sum up', though some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal structure of some sentences is disjointed, which occasionally disrupts the flow. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother to better link the concept of government responsibility with the practical implementation of water infrastructure. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'fresh water', 'clean', and 'huge', which are repeated frequently throughout the text. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'reasonability of the institutions' (should be 'responsibility') and 'beneficial of the society' (should be 'benefit of society'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to public policy, infrastructure, and socio-economic concepts to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some of the rural areas does not get'), article misuse ('at free of cost' should be 'free of cost'), and awkward phrasing ('without it they can survive'—the intended meaning is likely the opposite). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and preposition usage would significantly improve your score.
