Student answer (Band 6.0)
Access to clean water is essential for human health and survival. Some people believe that every household should receive a water supply, completely free of cost.Because it is a human vising , I strongly agree with this point of view , although I believe that free access should be limited to a reasonable amount of water.
The main reason why clean water should be provided free of charges. That is necessary for a healthy life. People need water for drinking cooking and maintaining personal hygiene and lack of safe water can lead to serious health problems. This is particularly important for low-income families who may struggle to pay regular water bills. If governments provide every household with a basic amount of clean water without charges. Disadvantaged people can meet their essential need without facing financially pressure. For example, free Access to safe drinking water can reduce the risk of water.Born disease in poor communities.
Another important reason is that providing basic water free of charge can promote social equality.Water is not a luxury product. And people should not be depribed of it simply because they have low-income.However, unlimited free water could encourage unnecessary consumption of wastage. Therefore, governments could provide a certain amount of water for essential household need and charge people for excessive use. This would ensure basic access while also encourageing responsible consumption.
In conclusion, I believe that every house and families should have free access to a basic supply of clean water.Because it is essential for health and human dignity.Nevertheless , charging for excessive consumption would be practical way to prevent wastage and protect water resources.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in favor of free basic water access while proposing a balanced approach regarding excessive usage. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly the focus on social equality and health. However, the development is slightly hindered by some awkward phrasing, such as 'human vising' (likely meaning 'human right'). The argument is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that all key terms are clearly defined and that the logical flow between the necessity of water and the proposed charging system is more seamlessly integrated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The main reason', 'Another important reason', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, there are instances where the use of punctuation disrupts the flow, such as starting sentences with 'That is necessary' or 'And people should not'. Additionally, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences are correctly punctuated would enhance the overall cohesion and make the progression of ideas feel more natural and sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at more specific vocabulary, such as 'social equality', 'unnecessary consumption', and 'water resources'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'vising' instead of 'right', 'financially pressure' instead of 'financial pressure', 'water.Born disease' (punctuation error), and 'depribed' instead of 'deprived'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument. Expanding the range of academic collocations would help elevate the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in sentence boundary punctuation, such as fragments like 'That is necessary for a healthy life' and 'And people should not be depribed of it'. There are also minor grammatical slips, such as 'encourageing' (spelling) and 'practical way' (missing article 'a'). The majority of sentences are understandable, but the frequency of punctuation and minor grammatical errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will be beneficial.
