Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is basic essential for the the survival of life on earth. Although, access to clean water is a serious concern today. There must be a proper management system to keep water preserve for the future use. I agree with this statement every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
The major advantages include the first one is every person of society will be able to enjoy the equal basic right either they are living in palaces or slums this will create the end of discrimination between them. Secondly, through proper awareness they will be able to keep their water use limited and avoid wastage. Thirdly, government will also play vital role for the conservation of water.
Some people argue because, free of charge water supply will make them careless they running the taps open after their use, leaking of pipes, and improper sewage system. They thought that government is responsible for the water management system and feel free such type of behavior should be discouraged by rising advertisements or commercials. Every citizen is answerable and should own their responsibilities.
In my opinion, prioritizing the water supply free of charge is quite good. Government should take productive steps for the preservation of water sources and implement strict rules in the country who forbid laws. Nevertheless, claim of some people about the water supply free of charge also reasonable according to their views.
To conclude, water is basic human right so, everyone is responsible for its preservation either its supply is free or costly. This is our duty to make proper water management system that will prove beneficial for us in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'palaces or slums' is a good starting point but lacks depth in explaining how free water would practically eliminate discrimination. The counter-argument is acknowledged, but the rebuttal is brief and relies on general statements about 'advertisements' rather than exploring the economic or logistical implications of free water. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your supporting points with more specific examples or logical reasoning to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the complexities of the issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal the progression of your argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Some people argue because, free of charge water supply will make them careless'. The connection between ideas could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that transitions between sentences are smoother and more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'management system', 'conservation', and 'sewage system'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'keep water preserve' (should be 'preserved') and 'rising advertisements' (should be 'increasing public awareness' or 'campaigns'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you rely on fairly common words. Incorporating more precise academic collocations would enhance the sophistication of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Water is basic essential' (should be 'a basic essential'), 'the the' (repetition), and 'who forbid laws' (should be 'who break laws'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures will help improve your accuracy.
