Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, government charges too much on clean water supply, with many individuals believe provide clean mineral water to each household free of cost is necessary requirements. While this trend provides certain advantages in terms of free water and accessibility to every house, it also brings notable disadvantages that could not be overlooked.

To begin with, access to clean mineral water to everyone is one of the most advantages is that individual health become good. To elaborate more, one man whose house is nearby dumping yard because of this their water supply connection is not clean same as others have so higher authority supply mineral water to this people than their health will be good. To add to this, human body has 70% of water if you not drink healthy water than it becomes medical emergency which lead to expensive treatment.

Secondly, in modern time if you want clean water than you have to pay too much money which is not possible for everyone so free of cost clean water can prevent this problem and every one can get clean drinking water. For example, Suresh who is working in factory as labor and hus compensation is only 10000 per month so he can not buy drink water because he has not enough money to buy water.

To conclude, I totally agree with the position of providing free clean water to everyone as free because it will help to become healthy and everyone can drink free rather than buying expensive water. At the end water is life so drink purify water and stay healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding health and affordability are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the example of 'Suresh' is a personal anecdote rather than a broader societal argument, which limits the academic tone required for Task 2. While the position is consistent, the supporting points are under-developed, and the conclusion merely restates the introduction without adding new insight. To improve, you should focus on exploring the economic or logistical implications of free water, such as the impact on government budgets or the potential for water wastage.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To add to this' and 'To elaborate more' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the 'dumping yard' example and the broader argument about government responsibility is disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but the internal progression of ideas within paragraphs lacks the necessary sophistication for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'clean', and 'expensive'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'many individuals believe provide' (should be 'believe that providing') and 'higher authority supply mineral water' (should be 'authorities should supply'). The phrase 'medical emergency' is used, but the context is slightly unnatural. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'public utility', 'socio-economic burden', 'subsidized', or 'infrastructure', and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('individual health become good'), article usage ('the human body'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'one man whose house is nearby dumping yard because of this their water supply connection is not clean'). Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to run-on sentences or fragments. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions.
