Student answer (Band 5.5)

Clean water is one of the fundamental requirement of human in most of the districts of the country. Many people are facing the problem of water scarcity in various villages. some people beleived that every home should provide the sufficient water supply for free of charge. I would strongly agree with this view.

firstly, providing clean water in every house for would be highly beneficial for many households as it reduce numerous problem. Farmers in most of the villages requires water for efficient irrigation for the better nourishment of there fields. Many people living in low class areas could not afford water in there places. As a result. these people have to reduce their expenditure in unnecessary resources and in there diet which led to rise in the diseases in these villages.

However, availability of the clean water with free of cost is not a prefferable choice. People after getting this free water will be misusing it in irrelevent tasks which would waste a huge amount of water. people will eventually lost it's importance that would be disastrous for their fulture. Provinder water free of charge to a wide range of villages and towns also affects the government financially and many industries have to experience a substantial loss.

In conclusion, Although it is true that free disrtibution of water will be significant for people who can not afford it, but this could cause the variety of issues and make people more careless in future. Therefore, government should provide clean water at resonable price to every hometown those are lacking in it's availability.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt, but the position is inconsistent. You state you 'strongly agree' in the introduction, but the second body paragraph argues against the idea of free water, suggesting it leads to waste and financial loss. This creates a contradiction that weakens your overall argument. While you provide some relevant points regarding irrigation and economic impact, the development is somewhat superficial. To improve, ensure your position is clear and maintained throughout the essay, and provide more detailed explanations for your arguments rather than listing potential issues. The conclusion attempts to reconcile these views by suggesting a 'reasonable price,' which deviates from the initial 'free of charge' prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'As a result.' is used as a sentence fragment, and the transition 'However' in the second body paragraph is confusing because the paragraph actually contradicts your initial thesis. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'these people' or 'it's importance,' where the antecedent is not always immediately obvious. To improve, focus on using linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph flows logically from the previous one without contradicting your main stance.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and contains several errors. You use words like 'districts,' 'provinder,' and 'hometown' in ways that do not fit the context of the argument. There are also frequent spelling errors such as 'beleived,' 'prefferable,' 'irrelevent,' 'fulture,' and 'disrtibution.' While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the errors occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on learning the correct collocations for academic writing and proofreading your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Farmers... requires,' 'people... lost it's importance'), incorrect article usage ('the clean water'), and preposition errors ('in the districts of the country'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the misuse of full stops where commas or conjunctions would be more appropriate. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your point, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement.
