Student answer (Band 5.0)

Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. However, I discord with this viewpoint because of take for granted and burden on government.

One of the major reason for my dissaproval of this viewpoint is that people do not give value to water. This is due to the fact that when people do not give cost of water then they did not importance of the water. Then they mostly waste water everyday. For instance, a study conducted by Environment protection department has approved value of water due to its positive outcomes for people and society. Therefore, people have no free of water.

Another worth considering reason for my disaggrement is burden on authorities. To elaborate, when government provide free of water in all country then people do not value to water and also, authoritie have big burden and affect on economic growth. Also, nation face difficulty due to these reasons. If importance of water boost up in society, it can benefit people in their all life

To conclude,it is clear above mentioned point that the idea value to water seems practical and can bring proso

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 198 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and repetitive. While you clearly state your disagreement with the prompt, the arguments regarding 'valuing water' and 'economic burden' are not fully extended or supported with concrete examples. The conclusion is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, which prevents a clear summary of your position. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations and ensure the essay meets the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often hindered by awkward phrasing and limited cohesive devices. While you use some linking words like 'However', 'One of the major reasons', and 'To conclude', the connections between sentences are sometimes mechanical or unclear. The referencing is occasionally confusing, such as in the second paragraph where the flow between the importance of water and the government's role is disjointed. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will help improve the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and non-standard collocations, such as 'discord with this viewpoint' (disagree), 'give cost of water' (pay for water), and 'importance of water boost up' (increase). Some words are misspelled or used incorrectly, such as 'proso' at the end. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on learning more precise academic vocabulary and common collocations related to economics and public policy, while ensuring that your word choices are accurate and appropriate for the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with article usage (e.g., 'provide free of water'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in complex construction, such as 'when government provide free of water in all country then people do not value to water'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions.
