Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no country in the world which is affected by the phenomenon of access to clean water. Recent studies indicate that this trend is only likely to accentuate in the near future considering the ground realities of the modern world. This essay shall analyse whether individuals should be accessed to water supply free of cost. However, I agree to this notion.
Water is the basic component which makes the human race to continue. All the functions in our body requires water. Apart from humans all the wildlife creatures, plants depend significantly on it. Although, three-fourth of the earth is surrounded by water it is pragmatic to use it directly. It contain salt water and a huge volume water is trapped in glaciers as snow. In-order to purify and filter these government authorities have constructed dams.
Every individuals depend on water for drinking, cooking, washing and many more. Portable drinking water is required to be healthy. Contaminated water could cause severe health issues. Economically backward communities find it difficult to meet the two ends. Hence access to clean water is sometimes not possible. Thereby they depend on river waters, ponds and other water bodies. In this contemporary world many multi-national companies had set-up industries near the river bodies and gradually it became polluted over the period. Industrial effluents and waste are released into water bodies without treating it. It not only affect humans but also great threat to marine life too.
Humans are the backbone of the nation and government must ensure free drinking water. It is the basic fundamental right which each citizen should posses. Suffice to say that, i agree that every house should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you mention the importance of water for health and the impact of industrial pollution, the argument regarding why it should be 'free of charge' is not fully explored from an economic or practical perspective. The introduction contains a significant error in the opening sentence, where you state there is 'no country' affected by water issues, which contradicts the premise of your essay. To improve, ensure your supporting points directly address the feasibility and implications of providing a universal free service, rather than just focusing on the necessity of clean water itself.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward. For example, the transition 'Although, three-fourth of the earth is surrounded by water it is pragmatic to use it directly' is confusing and lacks a clear logical link to the previous sentence. Additionally, the use of 'Thereby' and 'Hence' is sometimes forced. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that the progression of ideas between sentences is smoother and more coherent.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accentuate', 'pragmatic', and 'industrial effluents'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors. For example, you write 'individuals should be accessed to water', which is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'have access to'. You also use 'posses' instead of 'possess' and 'portable' when you likely meant 'potable'. These errors occasionally hinder the precision of your argument. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic collocations will help improve your score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'All the functions in our body requires water' (should be 'require') and 'It not only affect humans' (should be 'affects'). There are also punctuation errors, such as missing commas after introductory phrases. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct grammatical markers.
