Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 156 words long. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and under-developed. While the position is clear, the arguments regarding health benefits and government policy are not sufficiently extended or supported with specific examples or logical depth. The essay also ends abruptly, suggesting an incomplete response. To improve, you must expand your arguments with detailed explanations and relevant examples to meet the length requirement and fully address the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'Initially' and 'Secondly' to structure the response. However, the progression of ideas is limited by the brevity of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the overall flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'dirty water carries harmful germs, viruses, and bacteria have several kinds of health impacts,' where the grammatical structure makes the connection between ideas awkward. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, complete topic sentence would enhance coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally repetitive and basic, relying on simple phrasing like 'free of cost' and 'clean water' throughout the text. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'Approach to clear water' instead of 'Access to clean water' and 'I am totally agree' instead of 'I totally agree'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic terminology related to public policy, health, and economic infrastructure.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'clean water can reduces' (subject-verb agreement), 'I am totally agree' (incorrect verb form), and 'poor people are not fall behind' (incorrect passive/active construction). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. There is a lack of variety in sentence patterns, and punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs, then gradually introduce more complex sentence structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences.
