Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is irrefutable that nowadays saving water is crucial for the future generation. On that note it is believed that clean water is basic right for every people as water supply should be free for every house. I disagree with this notion without any qualms and the reasons for the same will be discussed further.
There are numerous reasons justifying my opinion. To initiate with, if the water supply will be free for every home than people will become unaware about the scarcity of water and start waste it unnecessary. for instance, while brushing teeth most individual turn on a tap and the water continuously flow from the tap. So, if the water supply will be free than people will waste it. Secondly, water bills are the significant part of the countries economy. Governments generate income from the water bills. However, it is not such a big part but it can affect the country's economy.
Furthermore, big companies which use water for their products. Companies have to pay bills according to their usage. So, they use water without any ruled and regulation. As an illustration, industry like paper company it uses large amount of water to make paper from the strach and it has to bills according to the usage. Lastly, quality of water can decrease by this decision. In other words there will be no water bills which means no water income so government can spend less on water. Ergo, this can be negative development.
To recapitulate, although it can be sufficient for the community who do not have proper water system. I still believe that it can be negative development due to reasons like people become unaware about water scarcity, it can have impact on economy of the country, companies may use it without rules and regulation and it can decrease the quality of the water. Hence, this cannot be a great decision.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding water scarcity and economic impact are relevant, though some points, such as the claim that free water would lead to lower water quality, are not fully developed or logically sound. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion where points are restated without adding new depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting argument is logically connected to the main premise and provides a more nuanced explanation of the consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To initiate with', 'Secondly', and 'To recapitulate', though some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow between sentences is interrupted by awkward phrasing. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, even if the internal logic of some arguments is slightly flawed. Overall, the structure is coherent and supports the reader's understanding.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinion clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'scarcity', 'economy', and 'industry', but there are also recurring errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'every people' instead of 'everyone' and 'without any ruled and regulation' instead of 'without rules and regulations'. The range is sufficient to communicate the message, but the lack of precision and occasional misuse of terms prevent a higher score. Expanding the use of more sophisticated collocations would improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the countries economy'), subject-verb agreement ('industry... it uses'), and verb forms ('start waste it'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. Complex structures are attempted, but they often contain inaccuracies. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of articles and correct verb tense consistency, before attempting more complex, multi-clause sentences.
