Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but struggles to maintain a clear, consistent position. While you acknowledge the importance of clean water, you contradict the prompt's premise by arguing for a monthly fee system rather than a free supply. The ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack depth in terms of logical argumentation. To improve, ensure you clearly state your stance in the introduction and dedicate each paragraph to supporting that specific position with well-developed arguments. The current structure feels more like a list of suggestions for government policy rather than a cohesive argument regarding the right to free water.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your ideas. The text is presented as a single block, which is a significant weakness in IELTS writing. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical and sometimes inaccurate way, such as the abrupt transition 'However, Some people believe that why we have to waste those time'. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks to separate your introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'good', 'things', and 'make'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'clean water is good for help' and 'keep maintainance of water supply'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'dirty water supply' when referring to the problem of contamination. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations related to public health and infrastructure, and work on reducing repetitive phrasing throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government or rural municipality individuals has to take'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence structures. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, making them difficult to parse. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using commas and periods correctly to separate distinct thoughts. Proofreading for these fundamental errors is essential for a higher score.
