Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention health benefits and the struggles of the poor, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. The response reads more like a list of points rather than a cohesive argument. To improve, you should focus on expanding your main points with specific examples or logical consequences, ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence. The current structure lacks a formal introduction and conclusion, which makes the overall argument feel underdeveloped and disjointed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of your argument. There is a lack of cohesive devices; you rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'so'. Transitions between ideas are often missing or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'so' to start sentences. Referencing is also unclear at times, making it hard to track the relationship between your points. To improve, you should organize your thoughts into distinct paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and use a wider variety of linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'good', 'clean', and 'water'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'coast' instead of 'cost', 'impect' instead of 'impact', and 'strugglingf'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'hygiene', 'sanitation', and 'hydration', but these are often used in grammatically incorrect ways. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, academic terms and ensure that you are using them in the correct context. Focus on learning collocations rather than just individual words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'water also require'), missing articles (e.g., 'in small town'), and incorrect sentence structure (e.g., 'the main reason for i agree to very important clean water'). You rely almost exclusively on simple sentences, and your attempts at more complex structures are often faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many run-on sentences and incorrect spacing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
