Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean water is essential to live a healthy life. people can't survive without clean water. I completely agree with this statement that clean water is a basic human right. In the following, I will give a reason to support my idea.
As you know that human body is made up of mostly water. Water is an essential part of life. We can't ignore it. Even we can't imagine a single day without water. Water is also beneficial for proper functioning of our body. Lack pf water can cause many diseases like kidney failure, dehydration or many other diseases.
That's way it is basic and most important human right. Government should take care of water shortage. Still, there are many places in Pakistan in which there is a lack of clean water. People have no option instead of drinking dirty water. they are forced to drink dirty water. And this dirty water is surely dangerous for their health. As soon as possible government should take action otherwise there will be difficult to live.
As this is an essential need for human, hence government should provide clean water across all over the country. And this water should be free of any charges because there are many people that can't be able to pay bills. Many people hardly survive in Pakistan.
In conclusion, the need of clean water is increasing day by day. So, the problem must resolved timely. It is also important for the development of Pakistan. As you hear that, "a healthy body has healthy mind".

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of free water access. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the health benefits of water and the situation in Pakistan, the arguments remain repetitive and lack depth. To reach a higher band, you should explore the economic or social implications of 'free' water more thoroughly, perhaps discussing how governments could fund such a scheme or the potential challenges involved. The essay is somewhat simplistic in its reasoning, focusing heavily on the necessity of water rather than the specific debate regarding it being provided free of charge.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'As you know', 'That's way', 'In conclusion'). Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the logical flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall progression of the argument feels a bit disjointed at times, particularly in the transition between the health benefits and the government's responsibility.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic, repetitive language such as 'essential', 'dirty water', and 'important'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the problem must resolved' (should be 'must be resolved') and 'can't be able to pay' (a redundancy). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to public policy, infrastructure, or socio-economic rights.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'people can't survive' (missing article), 'human body is made up' (missing article), 'That's way it is' (incorrect usage of 'way' instead of 'why'), and 'across all over the country' (redundant). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization at the start of sentences. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors limits the score.
