Student answer (Band 6.0)
Water plays crucial role in our life for survival. It is considered as predominant right of our society. It is utilised for cooking and drinking in our everyday life. Moreover, useful for other chores such as, taking showers and cleaning. Despite that, council charges bills for supplying water to houses which should be free. I agree with this statement and explain in this essay.
To commence with, human are unable to survive without water. It is not only used for cooking, but also for quenching our thirst. Nevertheless, government applying charges on individuals for water supply to their homes. Taking an example of developed countries such as, USA, UK and Canada although, people pay their taxes to governing authorities still they have to pay for water separately. This should be considered as violation of human rights and taxpayers.
Rather than survival water is useful for daily routine tasks. For example, cleaning and taking shower. Personal and surrounding hygiene is vital for society as well. People tend to keep their home clean and themselves with use of water. Which leads to disease environment for house members and neighbours living around them.
In conclusion, in my opinion water is majorly get in used in every day life. Whether its for cooking or drinking which is basic human need for living or for cleaning and bathing because keeping a hygiene behaviour is essential for health as well as for our surroundings so Children and adult do not come it the touch of contamination.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that water is a human right and necessary for hygiene, the arguments lack depth. For instance, you mention that taxes should cover water costs, but you do not explore the economic implications or the potential consequences of 'free' water, such as waste or infrastructure maintenance. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced reasoning and perhaps acknowledge counter-arguments to strengthen your position. The conclusion is repetitive and does not add new insight to the discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'In conclusion', but the internal logic within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. For example, the transition from discussing hygiene to the conclusion is abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack clear logical progression, such as the sentence starting with 'Which leads to disease environment'. Improving the use of referencing and linking words would help create a smoother, more professional flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'useful', 'good', and 'clean'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'predominant right' (instead of 'fundamental right') and 'disease environment' (which is unclear). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but it is often used incorrectly or in a repetitive manner. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to public services, economics, and human rights to express your ideas more naturally and precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'human are unable'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'water is majorly get in used'), and punctuation errors. There are also issues with sentence fragments, such as 'Which leads to disease environment for house members'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage would be highly beneficial.
