Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many decades ago, access of pure water to every individual was easy for them. After many developments now there is a shortage of clean water to everyone which is a basic human right. I partially believe with both the agree and disagree with the given statements and the reasons for stand are mentioned in the upcoming paragraphs.

In this contemporary era, each and every individual of the country has a basic right to have at least a clean water for their daily amenities like drinking, bathing for proper hygiene and cooking, etc. Which results, to stays healthy and away from diseases. Government should provide clean water to poor people who cannot afford the clean water in daily life. To exemplify, my friend live in a slum area and suffering from skin infections and unhealthy due to the consumption of dirty water also with less service of refined water in his home. After giving the free access to the all the citizens equally there will be reduction in inequality among high class people and poor people. Rich people never discriminated to poor people due to their appearance and hygiene due to this each will show respect to individual.

The Statement has not only the agree points but also some disagree points and the major point to disagree is the wastage. After, having a free access to clean water among them most careless people will waste the clean water carelessly for irrelevant use. In the result, the shortage of the water will occur and people will face reduction in water resources. To exemplify, my brother fills the whole big glass to drink water but he only drinks half of it and rest of the water throw it in the sink due to this lack of carelessness create shortage of water in future for our upcoming generations. For maintaining the water from different resources of water which cost more than crores of investments to the sectors for the heavily used equipment, treating process, storage and transportation.

To Conclude, the use of fresh water is important in every one life for basic usage. So, every home should have supply for clean water with zero charges. Also, the citizen should understand the important of each drop of water and not to use carelessly in daily life for this societies should spread the awareness among them on the usage of water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both the necessity of free water and the potential for wastage. Your position is clear, although the introduction is slightly confusing in its phrasing ('I partially believe with both the agree and disagree'). The ideas are relevant, such as the health benefits for the poor and the economic burden of infrastructure. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited; for instance, the argument about social equality is a bit underdeveloped and could have been explained more logically. To improve, ensure your main ideas are fully explored with more sophisticated reasoning rather than relying on personal anecdotes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'To exemplify' and 'In the result', though some of these are used incorrectly or sound unnatural. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transition between the two main body paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack proper linking, such as 'Which results, to stays healthy', which disrupts the flow. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would improve your score in this area.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, using terms like 'amenities', 'infrastructure', and 'awareness'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'access of pure water' instead of 'access to pure water', and 'less service of refined water'. Some phrasing is also repetitive, and there are minor errors in word form, such as 'unhealthy' used as an adjective where a noun was needed. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding basic errors in word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but your writing contains frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('my friend live'), incorrect preposition usage, and sentence fragments ('Which results, to stays healthy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and article usage before attempting more complex structures.
