Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many decades ago, access of pure water to every individual was easy for them. After many developments now there is a shortage of clean water for everyone which is a basic human right. I partially believe that I agree and disagree with both the given statements and the reasons for my stand are mentioned in the upcoming paragraphs.
In this contemporary era, each and every individual of the country has a basic right to have a clean water for their daily amenities like drinking, bathing for proper hygiene and cooking, etc. Which results, to stay healthy and away from diseases. Government should provide clean water to poor people who cannot afford the clean water in daily life. To exemplify, my friend lives in a slum area and suffering from skin infections and illness due to the consumption of dirty water also with less service of refined water in his home. After giving the free access to all the citizens equally there will be reduction in inequality among high class people and poor people. Rich people never discriminated to poor people due to their appearance and hygiene, this each will show respect to individual.
The Statement has not only the agree points but also some disagree points and the major point to disagree is the wastage. After, having a free access to clean water among them most careless people will waste the clean water carelessly for irrelevant use. In the result, the shortage of the water will occur and people will face reduction in water resources. To exemplify, my brother fills the whole big glass to drink water but he only drinks half of it and rest of the water throws it in the sink due to this lack of carelessness create shortage of water in future for our upcoming generations. For maintaining the water from different resources of water which cost more than crores of investments to the sectors for the heavily used equipment, treating process, storage and transportation.
To Conclude, the use of fresh water is important in every one life for basic usage. So, every home should have supply for clean water with zero charges. Also, the citizen should understand the importance of each drop of water and not to use carelessly in daily life for this societies should spread the awareness among them on the usage of water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the necessity of free water and the potential for wastage. However, the position is slightly contradictory; you state you 'partially believe' you agree and disagree, which is a bit confusing. While you provide relevant examples, such as the slum area and the brother wasting water, the development is somewhat simplistic. The conclusion contradicts the body paragraphs by stating water should be free, despite your earlier argument about wastage and costs. To improve, ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the essay without internal contradiction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'To exemplify' and 'To Conclude', though some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'In the result' or 'After, having a free access'. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly. Paragraphing is used appropriately, which helps the reader follow your argument, but the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'contemporary', 'amenities', and 'inequality'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'access of pure water' (access to), 'less service of refined water', and 'lack of carelessness'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary in a natural, contextually appropriate way.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the clean water', 'the shortage of the water'), prepositions, and verb forms ('my friend... suffering from', 'this each will show'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and comma splices. The errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, though they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your intended meaning. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
