Student answer (Band 6.0)
Considering it a fundamental right, people must have free access to the clean drinkable water and there should be free supply of water in every house. I agree with the statement up to a greater extent and i will justify my decision in forthcoming paragraphs.
Owing to the following reasons, clean water should be provided at zero cost to everyone. The most prominent one relates to basic body necessity. To put it another way, 75% of human body is made of water and having limited access to it can lead the body towards dehydration and other serious health conditions which can take a heavy toll on one’s life. For example, there are so many such news can be found in the newspapers which highlight how the scarcity of water has taken so many lives in the many areas where area is not availed easily. There is nothing more valuable than the life a person and therefore, it can be said that every human on this planet deserves same access to clean drinkable water. Additionally, water is a naturaL resource and everybody has a right to access it for free. Government must make laws regarding the fair and equal distribution of water resources to every house in the country as far as the lives of its citizens is concerned.
Nevertheless, it also inevitable that anything that costs nothing is often not valued by people. To put it simply, having free access and easy availability of water would allow the people to waste it instead of using it wisely. Many urban people, for instance, waste water on floors everyday. Thus, sometimes it seems justifiable to charge the people even for water.
In conclusion, although the problem of water wastage gives a strong reason to charge the people for water, the lives of the people are far more important to be saved from water scarcity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all parts of the task and maintained a clear position throughout. Your argument is logical, starting with the health-based necessity of water and then acknowledging the counter-argument regarding wastage. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example provided about news reports is vague and lacks specific detail. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more concrete and fully explored. You have successfully balanced the two sides of the argument while maintaining your stance, which demonstrates a good understanding of the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To put it another way', 'Additionally', and 'Nevertheless' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing, such as in the sentence 'there are so many such news can be found', which disrupts the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the main arguments. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally to ensure the progression of ideas is smoother and less predictable.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fundamental right', 'scarcity', and 'justifiable'. There are some instances of awkward phrasing or minor errors, such as 'area is not availed easily' and 'naturaL resource' (capitalization error). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the precision is sometimes lacking. To achieve a higher score, work on using collocations more accurately and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to public policy and resource management would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'there are so many such news can be found' (incorrect syntax) and '75% of human body' (missing article). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and capitalization slips. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and refining your complex sentence structures to ensure they are error-free.
