Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are some basic human rights and clean water ought to be one of them. It is essential for a government to provide clean water to every house without any fee. As lots of money is wasted to purify water, several health issues can be seen regularly as well as United Nation have some policies regarding this, I agree it should be accessible to all kinds of people free of charge.
Water is a fundamental part of human life. People face health problems because of dirty water they drink from environment. For instance, diseases like jaundice, malaria and diarrhea occur because of unhealthy food and drink. In dirty water, mosquito gives birth and causes malaria. Research shows in poor countries, more than 5% of children die each year because of diseases like these. Government need to understand that all people cannot access pure water
Moreover, lots of money is needed for water purification. Although water filter or purifier is used for this, everyone is not able to afford them and use it regularly. In addition, in several countries, purification medicine or tablet is used where clean water is difficult to find but it requires a cost for the people. Poor people, therefore, use tubewell and pond to get water and gets affected by several diseases.
Finally, it is also mentioned in United Nation's policies that, water management system should be built. For instance, state owners of several African countries can be seen to make deep tubewell for their inhabitants. Another thing to mention, in each country, people pay tax and it is a fundamental duty for a government to provide necessary things to them at free. The governement or state owner should maintain those rules and make the system in order to access pure water beside providing food and shelter using deep tubewell or similar systems.
To sum up, it can be reiterate that clean water ought to be accessible and in order to make the people health and live a long life, every house should have a water supply free of cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt and maintained a clear position throughout the essay. Your ideas are relevant, such as the link between water quality and public health, and the economic burden on low-income families. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the mention of 'United Nation policies' is vague and lacks specific detail to strengthen your argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more precise and fully explored rather than just mentioned. The conclusion effectively restates your position, though it contains a minor grammatical error ('reiterate' instead of 'reiterated'). Overall, the response is well-focused on the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'Finally' to signal transitions between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Another thing to mention'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be better linked to improve the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fundamental', 'purification', and 'inhabitants'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'state owners' (which is not standard English for government officials) and 'mosquito gives birth' (a more natural phrasing would be 'mosquitoes breed'). Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'gets affected' instead of 'are affected'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the control over these is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in grammar, particularly with articles ('the United Nation', 'the environment'), subject-verb agreement ('Government need'), and verb forms ('it can be reiterate'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely cause confusion for the reader. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules such as pluralization and article usage. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you demonstrate better control and move toward a higher band score.
