Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no doubt about the fact that drinkable water is a human right. But I am not in favour of providing it at no cost because often free things lost its value. Water is a very precious thing, and once we lose it, we cannot get it back at any cost. I will discuss it in the upcoming paragraphs.
First and foremost, today's generation is not able to take care of free water. To clarify, they are living in the use-and-throw-away era. They just buy things and use them for some time and throw them away. In short, this generation do not know how to use things for long term. If they get free access of water, for sure they will not value it but if they have to pay for it, than they know the price for it.
On the other hand, some people opine that water should be free. They argue in the favour of it because they say it is a natural resource also given free from god to us, so to charge it is absolutely absurd. For example, individuals breathe and we have to pay nothing for it. Same like water, rain is free; then why charge it, although some population is living under poor condition, they cannot afford even water. So it's unjust for them.
In capsulate, whether water is free but its free access for all is not worth it, instead of it, its balance is appreciated. Give it at affordable prices, not on high.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by stating your position clearly in the introduction and providing arguments for both sides. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument about the 'use-and-throw-away era' is a bit general and could be better linked to water conservation specifically. The counter-argument regarding natural resources is relevant, but the conclusion is slightly abrupt and lacks a strong summary of your main points. To improve, aim to expand your supporting examples with more depth and ensure your conclusion reinforces your initial stance more effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you have used some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'On the other hand', and 'In capsulate'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'In capsulate' (which should be 'In conclusion'). Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, 'they' is used repeatedly without a clear antecedent in some instances. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their subjects will help improve the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on some repetitive or simplistic phrasing, such as 'very precious thing' and 'free things'. There are also some minor collocation errors, such as 'give it at affordable prices' instead of 'provide it at affordable prices'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to economics and social policy, and pay closer attention to word choice to ensure your meaning is conveyed with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'free things lost its value' (should be 'lose their value'), 'this generation do not know' (should be 'does not know'), and 'Same like water' (should be 'Similarly to water'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Practicing more complex sentence structures while ensuring accuracy will help you achieve a higher score.
